Safety instructions It is essential that pan holders, oven cloths or oven gloves be used when hot food is being taken out of the oven. The safety of this appliance is in accordance with recognised technical regulations and statutory law on appliance safety as well as international safety regulations and quality standards. The safety measures which are in place as a matter of course do not cover all possible accident risks.

Before using the appliance for the first time Setting the clock The oven will not function until the clock is set. The clock must be set before the oven is used and whenever power has been disconnected to the appliance. If the clock needs to be set, you will see “00:00:00” flashing in the display. • Use “+” and “-” to set the right time. After around 3 seconds, the new time will be accepted and the display will stop blinking.
Control knobs and indicators Oven selector (4) The oven switch is turned clockwise or anti-clockwise into the required position. The dot on the knob shows the selected function. Light 8888 The oven lamps are switched on and the oven is not heating. The oven lamps light up for all of the other functions too. Hot air convection (Rear wall heater, fan) for simultaneous baking and roasting at up to three levels.
The oven Accessories Z Besides the accessories supplied, please use only suitable, heat-resistant baking and roasting tins. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. The following are supplied: Baking tray For cakes and biscuits Gridiron: For cookware, baking tins and food for roasting and grilling Drip pan For moist cakes and roasts or as a baking sheet or drip pan Roasting thermometer For cooking roasts. Instructions for use can be found on page 17.
Electronic minute minder You can find out on p. 17 how to use the roasting thermometer function. As well as providing a short-time alarm for reminders, the electronic timer controls the oven in several other ways. You can use it to set the cooking time, the finish time and the core temperature. All functions are available in any mode or temperature selection.
Adjusting the minute minder The minute minder can be used independently of the switching functions. • Press “ Q ”. The lamp will flash. The display will read “0.00”. 0000 888 • Use “+”/“-” to set the timer in minutes and seconds. 888 • Start the minute minder with “ Q ” or wait until the lamp stops flashing. You will see in the display the time remaining until the buzzer sounds. 0530 • An acoustic signal is generated when the alarm time has elapsed. • Press any button to stop the buzzer.
This is how to programme the switching operations Selecting the operation: • Press the selector button for the operation you wish to use. The lamp above the button you have pressed will start to flash and a number will appear in the display. Altering/adjusting the operation: Adjust the value shown, using “+” and “-”. • Starting the operation: If you do not press another button for 3 seconds, the operation will start automatically and the lamp will stay on all the time.
When the cooking time is finished the oven will switch off and “End” will appear in the display. A warning signal will sound. Both of the lamps next to the display will stop flashing. • Press any selector button to stop the alarm buzzer. The display will show the normal clock again. The oven starts again. (Not when the roasting thermometer is inserted.) • Turn the temperature control and the mode selector to “0”.
Setting the finish time U (switch-off function) Use this function if you want the oven to switch off automatically after a certain time. • Press “U ”: the lamp will flash and the display will show the normal clock. 888 • Use “+”/“-” to set the desired switch-off time. 888 After approx. 3 secs. the timer will start and the lamp will stay on continuously. The display will show the time remaining. Both lamps will flash alternately. • 888 Set the temperature and the operating mode.
Automatic turn-on and shut-off If you wish use the oven’s time-delay feature, you may pre-select both cooking time and finish time. The automatic start time itself cannot be specified, but this is derived from both settings. i It is impossible to set a finish time before the start time: you will hear a buzzer and the value in the display will not change. If you wish to shorten the cooking time you have set, do this first before you reset the finish time.
After approx. 3 secs. the lamps will stay on continuously. The display will show “Auto” until the oven switches on. • 888 Set the temperature and the operating mode. The oven will automatically switch on at the specified time and both lamps next to the display will flash alternately. The time remaining until finish time will be shown in the display.
The roasting thermometer The roasting thermometer measures the temperature inside the food. When the core temperature has reached a certain value, the roast is done just right: not too dry and not too bloody, roasted just right (see the chart on page 27. Once the preset core temperature is reached, the oven automatically switches off. The roast is done.
Setting the roasting thermometer function This function will only work when the roasting thermometer is inserted. The right display shows you the current core temperature inside the roast and “70 °C” will appear in the left display. The two lamps next to the display will flash alternately. • If you wish to change the preset temperature push “P ”, the lamp over “P ” flashes. • Change the recommended temperature of 70 °C with “+”/“-” to set the desired temperature. After approx. 3 secs.
Roasting thermometer function with delayed switch-on This allows you to delay the start of cooking when using the roasting thermometer. As no fixed cooking time is set, it is not possible to set a finish time. This function will only work when the roasting thermometer is inserted. The right display shows you the current core temperature inside the roast and “70 °C” will appear in the left display. Both lamps will flash alternately. • If you wish to change the preset temperature push “P ”.
The oven automatically switches on at the beginning of the cooking time. Both lamps will flash alternately. When the actual core temperature reaches the value you have set, the oven will switch itself off and “End” will appear in the display. A warning signal will sound. Both lamps will stop flashing. • Press any button to stop the alarm buzzer. Both lamps will flash alternately in the display as long as the roasting thermometer is inserted. • Turn the temperature control and the mode selector to “0”.
Applications and hints Pre-heating the oven Baking with Hot air mode Most dishes do not require the oven to be pre-heated. We recommend pre-heating With the Hot air mode you can bake on up to 2 baking trays at the same time. No pre-heating is required. i • for roasting and grilling quick-fry meat such as fillet, roast beef and schnitzel, since the pores of the meat will then close more quickly and the meat will remain juicy.

Large-area grilling Preserving Z Caution! Always keep the oven door closed when grilling. Risk of burning! Z • When grilling small portions use the oven mode Infrared grill . • When grilling large portions use the oven mode Infrared large-area grill . Attention! During the preserving process a lot of moisture develops in the oven interior owing to the evaporation of water. This moisture emerges through the ventilator openings and as a result the control panel may become hot.

Cleaning and care Z Z Control panel and oven door No heating elements may be switched on while the oven is being cleaned. Make sure that the oven has cooled down sufficiently for you to be able to touch the inside parts without a risk of burning. Only the oven lighting may be switched on. For purposes of electrical safety, steam cleaners and high pressure cleaning appliances may not be used for cleaning the oven. Z Please ensure that seals on the door and in the door frame are kept clean.
Removing the oven door The oven door can be removed to facilitate cleaning the oven. • • • Open the oven door as far as it will go. Fold up the clamps on the door hinges. Take hold of the oven door on both sides and close it slowly. When the oven door is about half-closed, the hinges will fall out of the catches. The oven door can now be removed. Removing the glide-out rails • • Undo the screws. Remove the shelf racks.
What is to be done if… Z For reasons of safety repairs to the appliance, particularly repairs carried out on live parts, may only be carried out by qualified electricians or skilled customer service technicians, since such repairs may result in serious danger for the user. Please contact our customer service direct if you need any repair work done. Please switch the safety fuses off or unscrew them in the event of a failure or defect.
... the oven lamp needs to be replaced Z Caution: danger of electric shock! Disconnect the oven from the mains before you open the oven lamp cover. Switch off the fuse or pull out the mains plug! Z Allow the appliance and the lamp to cool before changing the lamp. If the oven has been used recently, the lamp will be hot! You can replace defective light bulbs yourself.
Installation instructions Instructions for electricians Z The appliance is supplied ready to plug in. It should be connected only to a properly protected wall socket. Installing and wiring a socket or replacing the connection cable should only be performed by an electrician and in observance of the relevant regulations. If the socket is inaccessible after the installation, safety regulations require that an all-pole isolator with a contact opening of at least 3 mm be used on the installation side.
Installing in a fitted kitchen unit Installing the appliance: • • Insert the plug into the wall socket. Slide the oven fully into the housing unit. Do not jam the cooker connection! Fastening in the appliance • Using the screws provided and slanting them outwards, fasten the appliance to the cabinet.
Disposal Disposing of the packaging All of the parts used for packaging are recyclable; strips of wood are untreated and foil and rigid foam parts are indicated accordingly. PE for polyethylene (outer cover, or bag for accessories) PS for foamed polystyrene (padding). Please dispose of packaging material and old appliances properly.
