Use of volume controls other than those stated above will lower the total number of
speakers that can be connected to the MAC24 and may cause damage to the audio
amplifier section. Additionally, ELAN volume controls with the Override feature are
required to ensure that Page and Door chimes are heard even if the volume controls
are turned all the way down.

24 is the number of speakers you can
connect to this amazing little amp to
broadcast Music And Communications
throughout the home. The MAC24 builds
on tried and true technology while adding
must-have features not available on any
other system of its kind. ELAN offers a true
audio distribution system that not only fits
into an in-wall wire management center,
but enhances a homeowner’s lifestyle with
built-in intercom features such as:
whole-house paging, phone-to-phone
intercom, door station communications and
more.
The MAC24 is a true “bridging” stereo
amplifier. Complimentary left and right
audio signals are present on each of four
outputs. This unique design allows
simultaneous connection of both stereo
pairs and monaural single speakers (up to
24 speakers total!) and is ideal for
background music, paging, and door chime
applications. This feature, coupled with the
RCA line level outputs (to additional
amplifiers for higher power listening
areas), provides maximum flexibility in
designing whole-house audio distribution
systems.
The MAC24 includes “pro-audio” signal
processing circuitry. A custom loudness EQ
curve and rumble filter provide richer,
fuller sound with in-wall speakers.
“Clip-Proof” audio compressors guarantee
clean, clear music.
ELAN’s patented intercom and door chime
features are built right in to the MAC24.
Audio will automatically mute when the
telephone rings. Paging from a telephone
handset, or activation of either of its two
door chimes, will mute the music and then
be broadcast over the speakers. Band-
limited paging inputs ensure consistent,
intelligible pages with any voice over any
touch-tone phone. 12VDC control signals
are also available to power ELAN’s
patented Volume Controls with Override.
Built-in IR pass-through connections
support up to 4 IR receivers and 4 IR
emitters. No external IR connecting blocks
are required.
The MAC24 is compatible with most
telephone systems and local Call Waiting/
Caller ID services. It allows continuous
phone service in the event of a power
outage, and is FCC Part 68 Approved.
