The Z•880 is one of the most versatile high-
performance composite video switchers on
the market today.
In an S6 or Z•630 system, the Z•880 can be
used to access any A/V source from any
zone. When using VIA! Touch Panels, the
Z•880 is an essential component that
allows viewing up to eight video sources
on each VIA!
®
panel! Since it is IR and
RS-232 controllable, the Z•880 is the
perfect video switcher for any stand-alone
commercial or security application. It can
even be added to an S12 to expand its
on-board video switching capabilities.
With the Z•880, each one of eight outputs
can independently select any one of the
eight video sources. Wideband switch
matrix and video line drivers are placed on
a premium, double-sided flooded ground-
plane circuit board. This ensures that the
highest quality video and cross talk
performance specs are maintained. All of
this means crystal clear video distribution––
even to TVs located up to 500 feet away!
User/Installer-friendly LED readouts, 75
Ohm/Hi-Z input dipswitches, and RS-232
baud rate selectors provide many
application opportunities for this unit.
Control interfaces include front panel IR
receiver, rear panel IR Input, RS-485 and
RS-232 Serial Control Data Links.
Set up of the Z•880 is easy using the
“AutoBuild” feature on ELAN VIA!TOOLS
set-up software, which automatically
assigns the Z•880’s video switching to
audio inputs on ELAN Multi-Room
Controller.
Link up to three Z•880s together to create
an 8 x 24 video switch matrix under IR or
RS-232 control. Three units can also be
linked together to create an 8 x 8
component video switcher.
The Auto Track button on the Z•038
remote (optional), synchronizes all outputs
to the system controller.
