ELAN M Series Speaker Enclosures meet
all the requirements for markets where
building codes dictate that in-wall or
in-ceiling speakers be installed in fire-rated
enclosures.
Constructed from .032 in. steel, each
enclosure is one-hour fire rated in
accordance with ATSM E1119-00, CAN/
ULC-S101-M89, NFPA 251 and UBC 7-1
”Fire Tests of Building Construction and
Materials“. A copy of ELAN’s Certificate of
Compliance to these standards is enclosed
with each enclosure for presentation to
building inspectors upon request.
Designed to accommodate all M Series 6.5
in. In-Wall, 6.5 in. Ceiling and 8 in. Ceiling
speakers, each enclosure features 3/8 in.
knock-outs on all four sides so that speaker
wire can be pulled into the enclosure from
any direction. Two 3/8 in. UL
®
-rated
connectors, one for wire and one for
conduit, are also included. Each enclosure
is filled with fire-rated 2 in.-thick rock
wool to dampen resonance within the box.
