active subwoofer that delivers the full impact
of today’s digital entertainment to your
home theater. Digital technology has
brought out new and exciting sounds that
can only be reproduced in their entirety by
a precision-engineered subwoofer.
The super-quick, long-throw 12 in. driver,
with its composite 3-layer Kevlar/aluminum
honeycomb cone, large 2.5 in. fiberglass voice
coil and double-magnet design is more than
capable of moving the large volumes of air
necessary for accurate bass response from
both movies and music. An audiophile-
quality 300W Class-D digital amplifier ensures
that the driver’s characteristics are taken full
advantage of. The end result is the
reproduction of powerful, room-rumbling
special effects in movies or the tight,
thumping bass in certain music.

Voiced and styled to match the sonic
qualities and elegant design of its front
stage brethren, the THP650SS On-Wall
Surround Sound Dipole combines
innovation and esthetics to create one
of the finest on-wall surround sound
speakers available today.
Providing better sound while decreasing
the space it takes up on the wall was a
prime directive. This was accomplished by
using one forward-firing 6.5 in. woven
Kevlar woofer instead of the traditional
array of two smaller woofers pointing in
opposite directions. Not only does a
forward-firing woofer maximize bass
dispersion, it allows for a significantly
reduced cabinet size and practically
eliminates the chance for low frequency
interference between the lower midrange
and upper bass frequencies when these
drivers are mounted on the same plane, as
in most other dipoles. Our opposing
midrange and tweeter arrays are aimed
away from listener at angles of 30 degrees
off the woofer’s acoustic axis. This design
not only isolates these frequencies from
the woofer, but creates the diffuse ambient
sound field required for surround sound
technologies. The end result is perfect
surround sound reproduction and a classic
speaker that looks great on any wall.
