The THP800C In-Ceiling Home Theater

ELAN’s unique, patent-pending design
allows the THP800C’s sound field to be
steered directly into the optimal listening
area. Since bass frequencies are omni-
directional, the 8 in. woven Kevlar woofer
is aimed directly downward for maximum
dispersion. Mids and highs, however, are
considerably more directional. The
midrange driver and tweeter are
mounted in a fixed-plane, vibration-free,
rotating assembly that allows the user to
steer them into the listening area,
providing for better separation and mix
of all frequencies.
The rotating assembly’s 30° angle from
the woofer’s audio axis ensures that the
midrange driver’s lower frequencies are
isolated from the upper frequencies of
the woofer’s spectrum, making for
smooth and articulate vocal reproduction.
Additionally, the tweeter is fully pivoting,
allowing for even more pin-point accuracy
of upper frequencies.
The 360 degree rotating assembly’s
locking mechanism requires only one
screw be tightened to prevent any future
movement of the adjusted drivers.
Bottom line – the THP80C is the finest
sounding in-ceiling speaker ever heard –
for any application.
