SC4 System Controller takes
RS-232 system integration into a new
generation of programmer-less setup.
The SC4 is an RS-232 system network
interface. It enables up to 30 VIA! Touch
Panels to control up to four RS-232-based
systems or components such as lighting,
security, temperature, A/V processors and
more. A fifth dedicated serial port allows
you to control ELAN components such as
the System12, the Z•880 Video Controller
and the SR1 Sense/Relay/IR Controller. The
SC4 also interfaces with the VIA!
®

TOOLS
Setup Software, which incorporates pre-
written and pre-tested RS-232 serial drivers

SR1 Sense/Relay /IR Controller
provides enhanced automation and power
management capabilities to home theater
and whole-house systems.
This IR- or RS-232-controlled device features
six independently configurable relay
outputs that can be used to automate
motorized screens, lifts and draperies. Eight
sense inputs, triggerable by contact closure,
and eight steerable IR output ports provide
a means for intelligent power management
for home theater or whole-house A/V
components. Programmable “if-then”
commands, based on the status of each
of the eight sense inputs, assure that the
movie screen won’t go UP if it’s already
DOWN, or that the TV won’t turn OFF if
it’s already ON.
The SR1 can be used to enhance the
capabilities of ELAN S or Z•Series systems,
or added to any stand-alone (non-ELAN)
system. It’s the perfect compliment for a
VIA! Touch Panel in a home theater.
ELAN’s line of sensors–ELAN
®
SENSE–now
makes the SR1 even more powerful. Use
them to trigger SR1 Sense Inputs whenever
audio, video, voltage, current, contact
closures or light are detected.
