The V8 is ELAN’s next-generation Composite Video
Controller.
Building on the legacy of the Z•880, the V8
Composite Video Controller continues the tradition
of outstanding performance, versatility and
reliability by adding even more must-have,
system-enhancing features.
The 8-in by 8-out V8 is the perfect video switcher
for routing composite video signals to VIA! Touch
Panels throughout the house. Add a V8 to a S128P
Multi-Room Controller to keep its component video
switching capabilities reserved for hi-def sources.
Or add a V8 to an S66A to turn it into an A/V con-
troller. The V8 is also ideally suited for residential or
commercial CCTV security camera applications.
This “next generation” composite video switcher
incorporates new features that make it even more
powerful and flexible than its best-selling predeces-
sor. Added are eight buffered video loop outputs
for easy expansion or source sharing, RS-232 DB-9
IN and THRU ports for easy serial control, and
VIA!Net IN and THRU jacks for quick ELAN product
integration and control. The “active” IR port even
supplies power to ELAN IR Sensors.
Up to four V8s can be linked together to create an
8-in by 32-out composite video switching matrix.
Unit ID switches make multi-V8 setup a breeze and
a front-panel LED display makes it easy to track
zones and sources for setup and troubleshooting.
The V8 can also route SPDIF Digital Audio over
coaxial cable. Pair it up with a V85 and you can
distribute HD Component Video and SPDIF Digital
Audio to 8 zones with just 2 cables runs (CAT-5e
& Coax).
