S66A
INTEGRATED MULTI-ROOM CONTROLLER
The S66A is the logical one-box-solution for
entry-level multi-room audio.
The S66A is a six-source by six-zone audio preamp
controller and power amplifier. It allows up to six
audio sources to be accessed independently in six
separate zones, and features a built-in 12 channel
power amplifier rated at 40 watts per channel.
Compatible with all ELAN user interfaces, the S66A
provides important feedback to keypads and touch
panels connected to the system, informing the user
as to the status of do-not-disturb, whole-house-
music, system on/off, zone on/off, mute and more.
Six source-specific IR output ports allow multiple
same-make sources to be used in the system
without contention. An IR “ALL” port is also
provided. Six source status inputs provide a means
for intelligent power management. Six zone trigger
outputs and two system trigger outputs supply
built-in automation and external amplifier trigger-
ing capabilities.
Expanding the system for more rooms of audio
is easy with zone preamp outputs that are con-
figurable for either variable or fixed. Adding ELAN
paging/telephone features or video switching is as
simple. The S66A is fully compatible with the C2
communications controller and the V8 / V85 video
controllers. The S66A shares the heritage of the
S86A/P and the S128P while being a practical yet
feature-rich alternative for many consumers.
