Controllers & Sources
The S128P is ELAN’s most powerful and flexible
multi-source/multi-zone controller to date.
Directly addressing the need to distribute more
A/V sources to more rooms, the S128P has
line-level inputs for 12 audio sources and a built-in
high-definition video switcher for the distribution
of both composite and component video sources.
Additionally, the S128P has eight local source
inputs, allowing you to place “private” audio
sources in each zone (i.e. a CD player in the
master bedroom).
The on-board video switcher provides the ultimate
in flexibility. The S128P can route up to 16 compos-
ite video sources to any of its 16 video outputs. It
can also distribute the Y/PB/PR signals from up to
five component video sources and handle high-defi-
nition video signals for house-wide distribution. If
you want to keep it simple, right out of the box the
S128P’s audio inputs are automatically linked with
the first 12 video inputs – just select a source and
the audio and video will switch simultaneously.
One S128P can independently access music and
video in up to eight zones. Up to four S128Ps can
be linked together, giving the system designer and
the homeowner the flexibility they need to create
the system that’s just right for their home and
lifestyle – 8, 16, 24 or 32 independent listening
and viewing areas.
The S128P also incorporates a host of must-have
features such as whole-house music, dynamic
range compression, source leveling, bass and treble
EQ for each zone, volume and EQ memory reten-
tion, and audio/video source-sensing for system
feedback at keypads and touch panels.
Other features include variable and fixed zone au-
dio outputs, buffered loop outputs for each audio
and video source, source-specific IR routing, two IR
“ALL” ports, an external IR input, six sense trigger
inputs, eight trigger outputs, expansion ports for
the easy addition of a 2nd, 3rd or 4th S128P, and
a serial port for external RS-232 control and pro-
gramming. The SPP System Precision Panel makes
all system connections quick, neat and reliable.
The S128P integrates easily with ELAN’s C2
Communications Controller, providing homeowners
with ELAN’s patented telecommunication features.
ELAN color CCTV cameras can be connected
directly to the S128P so that homeowners can also
see who is at the door, as well as monitor pool
areas, nurseries, and more. And because the S128P
is compatible both g! and VIA! systems, integrators
can choose the implementation that best fits their
needs.
