7.12 Site Panel LED Configuration
Operation
There are 16 Front Panel LEDs available on the RCU to allow local monitoring of the status input states. Any
individual LED can be configured to mimic any of the status inputs.
Status Input to Mimic
This determines which of the status inputs will be monitored by the selected LED.
LED State
• LED Off This will turn the RCU panel LED off effectively disabling the LED.
• LED On if Input Active This will light the selected RCU panel LED if the respective status input is active.
• LED On if Input Inactive This will light the selected RCU panel LED if the respective status input is inactive.
Apply
This function applies the changes back to the configuration database. All changes made since entering the site
configuration window, or since the last 'Apply' will be written to the configuration database.
NOTE: Any changes applied cannot be undone unless the individually parameter is edited then applied back to the database. This
function does not update the RCU, only the configuration database. (See Site Configuration )
Report Site Configuration
Generate a report that details the configuration of the RCU
7.13 Site Control Security
To prevent the operators from altering RCU site configuration or updating the actual RCU a password system has
been incorporated into SENTINEL.
The password must be at least 4 characters long up to a maximum of 8 characters long. Any attempt to change the
configuration of an RCU will require use of this password.
To change the password you must know the existing password and then enter a new password.
NOTE: The factory default password is ELANRCU
Control Password
To prevent other users from controlling your site SENTINEL uses an individual password when controlling each RCU.
The password must be at least 4 characters long up to a maximum of 8 characters. SENTINEL will automatically use
this password when an operator changes any of the control outputs.
This password is embedded into the RCU-01 and not to be confused with the password security within SENTINEL.
The default password is ELANRCU, and is checked whenever you connect to the RCU-01.
If connecting to the RCU in terminal mode, this is the keyword to invoke communications.
The password is set on a per unit basis, so you can have multiple passwords if you have multiple units.
Event Log Alarm Threshold
To warn the user that the event log in the RCU is about to overflow, a threshold can be set that will cause the RCU to
generate an alarm if the number of events exceeds the threshold. This value can be set from 0 to 255.
NOTE: Currently the RCU has storage for 99 events so if the threshold is set to > 99 then no alarm will be generated.
