4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation
It does not cause damage to health if inhaled.
Eyes
Flush affected area with plenty of fresh water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists,
look for a doctor/physician immediately.
Skin
It does not cause irritation if on skin.
If swallowed
Do not induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water and look for a doctor/physician.
Most important symptoms and
effects, acute and delayed
Eyes: irritation of the conjunctiva. Skin: not irritating. Prolonged and repeated exposure
may cause dryness. If swallowed: main risks are related to swallowing. If swallowed may
cause nausea and vomit.
Note to physician
Treat symptomatically.
5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable Extinguishing Media
Use fire extinguishers for the surrounding fire. Do not apply direct water stream on the
product when in flame as it may spread the fire and increase its intensity.
Specific Hazards
The fire may produce toxic and irritating gases as well as Carbon Monoxide and Carbon
Dioxide.
Protective Measures for
Firefighters
Firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and fire-fighting appropriate gear.
Do not enter confined areas without fully adequate protection equipment (PPE); that
must include self-contained breathing apparatus for protection against the dangerous
effects of the combustion products or lack of oxygen.
Isolate the risk area and forbid the entrance of people. In case of fire, use water spray to
cool fire-exposed containers. Keep safe distance from flames to avoid radiation burns.
Use extinguishing processes that preserve the environment.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures.
For personnel who do not
belong to the emergency
services.
Isolate and evacuate the area for a radius of at least 50 meters in all directions. Wear
clothes, gloves and protection for the eyes. Do not touch, stay or walk on the spilled
product. Keep away from low areas and position yourself with the wind blowing at your
back.
For emergency service
personnel
Wear waterproof and resistant to chemical product protective clothing. Provide the
grounding of all equipment that will be used in the handling of the spilled product.
Eliminate all the possible sources of ignition, such as, open flames, non-isolated hot
elements, electrical or mechanical sparks, cigarettes, electrical circuits, etc. Prevent from
using any action or procedure that may provoke sparks or flames.
