The CompactPCI
®
specification defines the usage of shielded, 2 mm-pitch, 5-row connectors on
CompactPCI
®
boards according to IEC 917 and IEC 1076-4-101. The 32-bit PCI interface is
implemented via the J1 connector, while the 64-bit option requires the connector J2. Since the
CG2-SHANTY has a 32-bit CompactPCI
®
interface, the J2 connector is not necessary and thus
not mounted.
The J1 connector also defines the supported signaling voltage (V
I/O
). A coding key in this
connector is used to distinguish boards with V
I/O
=3.3V (cadmium yellow key), V
I/O
=5V (brilliant
blue key) or both (no key). The CG2-SHANTY is suitable for V
I/O
=3.3V and V
I/O
=5V and therefore
not equipped with any coding key.
