For attachment of a legacy analog monitor to the DVI-I receptacle, there are both adapters and
also adapter cables available from DVI-I to the HD-SUB15 connector. Attachment of digital
monitors (flat panel displays) should be done by means of a DVI to DVI cable (single link style
cable is sufficient).
