Uniform Design
Despite all these variations, the Flexible Edition
monitors present a unied appearance. You can use
two different versions on your desktop and they will
look the same. If you need to purchase several moni-
tors for people in the company with different require-
ments, the Flexible Edition monitors allow you to
maintain a consistent style.
Digital and Analog Support
With both DVI-D and D-Sub mini 15-pin inputs,
you can use a computer that has either a digital or an
analog graphics board (or both if connected to two
computers), and quickly switch between the inputs
via a front panel button.
BrightRegulator
This function
keeps the monitor
at the ideal bright-
ness level under
all lighting condi-
tions. A sensor on the front bezel takes readings of
the ambient brightness and signals the backlight to
adjust the screen brightness accordingly. In addition
to providing greater clarity, this also saves energy by
dimming the screen when room brightness levels are
low. If you prefer a constant brightness level regard-
less of ambient lighting, you can easily disable the
BrightRegulator in the on-screen display menu.
Brightness Stabilization
At startup or upon wakeup, an EIZO-patented drift
correction function quickly stabilizes the brightness
level. In addition, a sensor measures the backlight
brightness and compensates for brightness fluctuations
caused by the ambient temperature and the passage of
time (FlexScan S1932, S1921, and S1721).
Fine Contrast Mode Selection
Text and sRGB imaging modes come as standard
with all models. The FlexScan S1932 also includes
Picture, Movie, and CAD modes for further func-
tionality.
10-Bit Gamma Correction
Automatically takes 8-bit
input signals (256 tones for
each primary color) from
the graphics board and
uses a 10-bit look-up table
(1,021 tones) to produce smoother, more accurate
gradations of color (FlexScan S1932, S1921, S1721,
and S1701).
