Notice for this monitor If the monitor displays continuously over a long period of time, dark smudges or burn-in may appear. To maximize the life of the monitor, we recommend the monitor be turned off periodically. Periodic cleaning is recommended to keep the monitor looking new and to prolong its operation lifetime (refer to “Cleaning” (page 4)). The LCD panel is manufactured using high-precision technology. Although, missing pixels or lit pixels may appear on the LCD panel, this is not a malfunction.

Chapter 2 Basic Adjustment/Setting Chapter 2 Basic Adjustment/Setting This monitor enables users to change the brightness according to personal preference or to suit the usage environment and reduce power consumption to conserve energy. This chapter describes the basic functions that can be adjusted and set using the switches on the front of the monitor. For advanced adjustment and setting procedures using the Setting menu, see “Chapter 3 Advanced Adjustment/Setting” (page 20). 2-1.
Chapter 2 Basic Adjustment/Setting 2-2. Switching Input Signals When a monitor has multiple signal inputs, the signal to display on-screen can be changed. Note • By selecting PbyP (Picture by Picture) display when a monitor has multiple input signals, windows can be displayed side-by-side. Because 2 windows can be displayed on a single monitor, the need for changing between signals is eliminated, which leads to increased work efficiency.

Switch the mode according to the purpose and content for display. Chapter 2 Basic Adjustment/Setting 2-4. Conserving Energy This monitor is equipped with EcoView functions to enable users to conserve energy. Use this function to curtail unnecessary power consumption and save on electricity expenses. Saving power also reduces CO2 emissions. Chapter 2 Basic Adjustment/Setting Function Setting Range Auto EcoView On Off Description The ambient light sensor on the front of the monitor detects the ambient brightness to automatically adjust the screen brightness to a comfortable level using the Auto EcoView function. The power consumption of the backlight can be curtailed by adjusting the brightness to an appropriate level. This function can also mitigate eye strain and tiredness caused by a screen that is too bright or too dark.
Chapter 2 Basic Adjustment/Setting 2-5. Adjusting Brightness The brightness of the screen can be adjusted to suit the installation environment or personal preference. The screen brightness is adjusted by changing the brightness of the backlight (light source from the LCD back panel). Chapter 3 Advanced Adjustment/Setting Function Power Save Setting Range On Off Description Note The monitor can be set to enter power saving mode according to the state of the PC. The monitor changes to power saving mode about 15 seconds after signal input ceases to be detected. When the monitor has shifted to power saving mode, images are not displayed on the screen. • At the time of shifting to power saving mode, a message that indicates the transition is displayed 5 seconds in advance.

Functions of the “Administrator Settings” Menu Function Auto Input Detection Setting Range On Off Description This monitor recognizes the connector through which PC signals are input and displays images on the screen accordingly. When a PC is turned off or enters power saving mode, any other available signal is displayed automatically.
Chapter 4 Administrator Settings Function Auto PbyP Resolution Setting Range On Off Description Note • If the resolution does not change correctly during PbyP display, it is recommended to change this setting to “Off”. This product automatically changes the resolution according to the screen layout when changing to PbyP display. Set this function to “Off” to prevent the resolution from changing automatically when changing to PbyP display. In this case, change the resolution manually.
Chapter 5 Troubleshooting Chapter 5 Troubleshooting If a problem still remains after applying the suggested remedies, contact your local EIZO representative. 5-1. No picture Problem 1. No picture • Power indicator does not light up. • Power indicator is lighting white. • Power indicator is lighting orange. • Power indicator is flashing orange. 2. The message below appears • The message shows that the input signal is out of the specified frequency range.

The screen is too bright or too dark. • Adjust the “Brightness” or “Contrast” in the Setting menu (see “Color Adjustment” (page 21)). (The LCD monitor backlight has a limited life span. When the screen becomes dark or begins to flicker, contact your local EIZO representative.) • If the screen is too bright, try changing the Auto EcoView setting to “On”.
Chapter 5 Troubleshooting Problem Possible cause and remedy 5. Green / red / blue / white dots or dark dots remain on the screen. • This is due to LCD panel characteristics and not a malfunction. 6. Interference patterns or pressure marks remain on the screen. • Leave the monitor with a white or black screen. The symptom may disappear. 7. Noise appears on the screen. • In the Setting menu, set “Overdrive” to “Off” (see “Overdrive” (page 24)).

Lay the LCD monitor on a soft cloth spread over on a stable surface with the panel surface facing down. 2. Raise the lever on the bottom of the stand base. 3. Turn the stand base in the counterclockwise direction to detach it.

Chapter 6 Reference 6-3. Attaching/Detaching the Cable Holder A cable holder is supplied with this product. Use the cable holder to organize the cables connected to the monitor. Attachment procedure 1. Pass the cables through the cable holder. 2. Close the opening in the cable holder. 3. While holding the cable holder closed, attach it onto the stand.

Chapter 7 Glossary Chapter 7 Glossary DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) The DICOM standard was developed by the American College of Radiology and the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association of the USA. The DICOM compatible device connection enables to transfer the medical image and information. The DICOM, Part 14 document defines the digital, grayscale medical image display. DisplayPort This is the interface standard for image signals standardized in accordance with VESA.
Chapter 7 Glossary HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) Digital signal coding system developed to copy-protect the digital contents, such as video, music, etc. This helps to transmit the digital contents safely by coding the digital contents sent via the DVI or HDMI connector on the output side and decoding them on the input side. Any digital contents cannot be reproduced if both of the equipments on the output and input sides are not applicable to HDCP system.
