Setting a default project
If you are merging multiple projects into one project to display to your users,
you should set one project as the default or "master" project. This default
project is used to resolve name conflicts among windows, topics, etc. The
default project's settings are used by the other projects in the engine. Also, if
the default project has a skin attached to it, all other projects will display with
the same skin. (For more information about skins, see the RoboInfo Publisher
online Help.)
To set a default project:
1 Open the Configuration Manger. (On the computer where you installed
RoboEngine, double-click the Configuration Manager icon on the
desktop.
2 Open your engine.
3 Select the Projects panel.
4 Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to place the project you want
to set as the master project at the top of the Project Order list.
Merging projects
One of the best features of RoboInfo is that it allows multiple authors to work
on different projects at the same time. The projects can then be merged at run
time after they are published to the engine. Users see one seamless set of
content.
By default, project merging takes place automatically after the following occurs:
n All authors connect to the same engine name (or URL) in their projects
n All authors publish their projects to the engine
When projects are automatically merged, they are added to the table of
contents in the order they are published to the engine. Projects can be listed in
a specific order in the table of contents by doing a custom project merge in
RoboInfo Publisher.
