Chapter 4 Managing Engines
37
Working with engines
Use the Configuration Manager to manage your engines. The Configuration
Manager makes it easy to create, open, maintain, and delete engines.
Creating an engine
An engine displays the content that your users view. An engine is essentially a
container that holds one or more projects. There is one engine for each Web
site.
Note: Each configured engine requires its own license. If you need to purchase
additional licenses, please contact eHelp Corporation Sales at
www.ehelp.com/contact/contactsales.asp.
You may have several projects combined into one engine. For example, if you
have several authors working on an engine, they may each work on a separate
project. Or, you may want to group certain information into separate projects.
You are not required to have more than one project for an engine - it is simply
a decision to make when organizing your team and your resources.
To create an engine:
1 Open the Configuration Manger. (On the computer where you installed
RoboEngine, double-click the Configuration Manager icon on the
desktop.
2 If necessary, open the Projects panel by clicking on the Projects icon
on the left side.
3 From the File menu, select New Engine. The Configuration Wizard opens.
Follow the instructions provided on the wizard screens.
Note: The Configuration Manager places files into the root folder. You may be
prompted if a file already exists. Click OK and a backup of the existing
file(s) is created.
