HARLEY APPLICATIONS: READ FIRST!
For Harley Davidson Installations, this kit is designed for upgrading or expanding the factory audio system on many 1996
and later bagger HD models including FLHT, FLHX, FL TR and some TRIKEs. Use this kit to install a single (small form
factor), weather resistant amplifier that is suitable for motorcycle applications (Amp not included} This kit may also be
adapted to other makes with a 12V battery and stereo source unit. Depending on the particular type of stereo, additional
Audio interconnect(s) may be needed for signal connection be tween the source unit and the amp.(lnternconnects sold
separately).
TOOLS & PREPARATION
This manual is intended as a guide to installing the included items. When possible, refer to the factory service manual
for your specific year make and model for additional techinal information. If you are unsure, or do not have the ability to
access the battery, remove the fairing, and route cabling under the gas tank, the we recommend professional
installation. The following is a list of common tools and supplies required when performing this installation:
• SockeURatched set, Standard • Allen Hex sockets or wren ch es, Standard • Screwdrivers
• Wire stripper • Wire crimper • Electrical Volt-Ohm meter
• Soft protective cloth covers for painted surfaces • Eye and skin protection
BEFORE BEGINNING:
1. Review this guide thoroughly to become familiar with this kit.
2. Seat and Front fairing (at minimum) must be removed to properly install this kit. Gas tank must be lifted or removed
to access the existing wiring loom or wire trough underneath. (Refer to the factory service manual whenever
possible for removal procedures specific to your year/model}.
3. Lay out all neccassary items and plan your installation before beginning.
4. Route the included power/ground cable with existing Factory wires. Use the protective wiring channel if equipped.
5. Keep new wiring away from all moving parts, suspension travel movement or sources of extreme heaUmoisture.
6. (10) cable zip ties are included ties to securely fasten wires and cable out of harms way.
7. Work in a clean, dry and level environment.
8. Fuse is not installed in fuse holder from factory. Do not install fuse until the final stage if installation.
9. Turn OFF iginition switch*. {*If equipped with a factory HD security system, hands-free FOB should be present.)
