INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
POWER CONNECTIONS
IMPORTANT NOTES!
•
Read this manual completely
before beginning your
installation.
•
This kit is designed
to
be combined with a
single
amp
installation
kit
for
dual
amp installations,
or
adding a second amplifier
to
an existing
installation. If
you
do
not have a
previously installed amplifier
(or you are
installing
2 amps with a
complete
amp
installation kit), this
dual
amp expansion kit
will
not provide you with
all
the necessary parts
to
complete
your
installation.
POWER:
1.
Cut
or
disconnect the main power feed
from the existing
amplifier and strip 1
/2''
of
insulation
away from the end.
2.
Select
the most convenient power input
terminal (left,
right
or
top) on the distribution
block
input side and
loosen the hex
bolt
set-screw (see Figure
2).
FUSES
3.
Insert
the stripped end into the
block
and secure
it
by
tightening the hex
bolt
set-screw.
You
will
need
to
remove the wire gauge adapter
ring from inside the fused
distribution
block

HINT:
The
supplied length
of
6 ft.
Blue
8GA power
cable will
be
cut
to
supply
power
to
both
amplifiers. Plan
your
installation carefully
to
ensure that you have enough
wire
to
reach from the block
to
both amps.

Using the 6 ft.
of
8 gauge power
cable included
in the kit, strip
back

insulation
and insert the
cable
into either output of the fused distribution
block
(see Figure
2).
5.
Secure with the hex
bolt set-screw and route the cable
to
amp 1. Cut
remaining 8GA
cable
for use with
amp
2.
6.
Strip 1/2''
of
insulation
away and crimp on one
of
the supplied
8GA Red-boot barrier spade
terminals.
Make
power connection at amp
1 (see Figure
3).
7.
Repeat steps 4 through 6 with the remaining
length
of 8GA Blue
power
cable
for amp 2 (see Figure
3).
NOTE:
If
amplifier uses set-screw
insert connections, then spade
terminals are
not
required.
