A.
RCA mterconnect
w~res
and power
lines should
be run separately.

when run next to RCA mterconnects
or
speaker
w~res,
can
1nduce
a hum
mto
the
Signal
path
of
the system (Radiated
N01se.),
even with
well
shielded
w1res.
A
mm1mum
of
s1x
mches
apart
will
help ensure that power line Interference will
not be
present.
B.
All
w~nng,
whether power, speaker or RCA
Interconnects
should be kept as far as
possible from other high
voltage
areas of the
veh1cle
s factory
wmng.
These areas
can
also
1nduce
no1se
1nto
the
system.
C.
Make certain that
w1nng
IS
never run through openmgs
which have rough
metal
edges, like
fire walls. trunk
walls, etc. Also, beware that
w1nng
may get pinched
beneath seat tracks.clutch and brake pedals,
etc. Use
v1nyl
tubmg
and grommets
whenever
necessary.

When
maktng
any
connection,
use
cnmp
connectors,
or
solder
all
connections
and
properly
cover with heat shnnk

tape.

the firewall to drill a hole, preferably on
the battery

and where there are no obstructions.

drill
bit
drill a hole and attach a grommet.
Route
the
AUDIO
EFX-2
power
cable from the
eng1ne
compart-
ment. through the grommet and
mto
the vehicle
mtenor.
C. Run the
power
cable
to
the
battery,
keep1ng
it
away
from
all mov1ng
parts
and
secure it with
w1re
ties.
Cover
with flex loom.

back
a half

msulation
on
the power cable (battery end)
and

positive(+)
battery post.

door
sill, lift
the carpet and carefully route the
power
cable
to the amplifier mounting location. Use care
to
avo1d
all
movmg
parts
that
m1ght
p1nch
or
cut the cable.
NOT!::
It
is
best
lo
route
the
power
cable
on
the
opposite
s1de
of
the
mterconnect
cable
whenever
possible
(see
WIRING TIPS).
NOTE:
Check
for
possible
obstructions
before
drilling.
Secure
the
ground
cable
lightly
with
a
steel
screw
(use
a
ground
washer).
I.
If
your amplifier
1s
the
termmal
stnp type,
cnmp
connect the supplied
barner spade terminal to the other end of the ground
cable.
Connect it to the ground
mput
of
your amplifier.
Insulate
us1ng
the
supplied
msulator boot. When
us1ng
an
amplifier
eqwpped
with a
plug, use the supplied butt connector.
Cnmp
connect
it
to
the
stnpped end
of
the ground cable.
Stnp
back a half
(1/2)
1nch
of
msulation
on the ground
1nput
of
your
amplifier, msert
it
1nto
the
other
end
of
the butt connector and
cnmp
connect.
2.
IEFX-2
RCA INTIERCO!\!NECT CABLES:
A. Route the supplied EFX-2 Interconnect
cable
and the supplied
blue
turn-on
lead
from the radio cavity to the amplifier location,
along
with the speaker
w1res
if possible.
NOTE:
Keep
mterconnects
away
from
all
types
of
power
sources
to
prevent
radiated
noose
from
entering
the
system.
Also,
like
the
speaker
w~res,
keep
these
w~res
away
from
ail
movmg
parts
to
av01d damage.
B.
Stnp
back a
half
(1/2)
mch
of Insulation on the tnp
lead
and the
"remote on"
or
power
antenna lead from the radio.
Use
the supplied
18
gauge butt connector and
cnmp
connect them together. Connect
the red
s1de
of
the Interconnect to the
nght
channel output
of
the
radio and the white to
left channel.

Cnmp

open

the fuse holder. Use
the supplied nng
terminal and
