Calibrating from the digital press touch panel
You can calibrate the EX700i from the digital press touch panel using ColorCal, without
using Command WorkStation.
If an Administrator or Operator password has been set, you will need it to perform calibration
from the digital press touch panel. For instructions on using the digital press touch panel, see
Configuration and Setup.
TO USE COLORCAL FROM THE DIGITAL PRESS TOUCH PANEL
1 On the digital press touch panel, press the All Services icon.
If the All Services icon is not displayed, press Services button next to the digital press touch
panel.
2 Press Web Applications.
3 Press Tools and then press Calibration.
If you are not already logged on as an administrator or operator, a log-in screen appears.
4 Log on as Administrator or Operator, if required.
5 For Select Tray, choose the paper source for the measurement page.
6 Press Print to print the measurement page(s).
The ColorCal Calibration page is comprised of swatches of color that are measured by the
digital press’s scanner, and then compared to the target color values.
If scanner calibration is enabled on the EX700i (the option is enabled in Command
WorkStation Calibrator Preferences), the ColorCal Scanner page is printed, as well. We
recommend that you calibrate the scanner after the digital press has been serviced.
7 To print the instructions for scanning, press Print Instructions.
The ColorCal Scanning Instructions page describes how to perform a ColorCal scan from the
digital press touch panel.
8 If the ColorCal Scanner page was printed, follow the instructions on the ColorCal Scanner
page to place it on the glass platen along with the required strips. Otherwise, skip to step 11.
9 Follow the instructions on the ColorCal Scanning Instructions page to scan the ColorCal
Scanner page.
Wait for the scan job to be completed.
10 Press Measure.
The EX700i retrieves the scan data and calculates the measurements.
11 Follow the instructions on the ColorCal Calibration page to place it on the glass platen along
with the required strip.
