EFD PRODUCT SAFETY STATEMENT
This statement provides personal and equipment safety notices for EFD dispensing products excluding
the TT dispensing robot. For the safety statement on the TT dispensing robot, please see the TT
user’s guide.
The safety message that follows has a WARNING level hazard.
Failure to comply could result in death or serious injury.
ELECTRIC SHOCK
Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power before removing cover and/or disconnect,
lock out, and tag switches before servicing electrical equipment. If you receive
even a slight electrical shock, shut down all equipment immediately. Do not
restart the equipment until the problem has been identified and corrected.
CONNECTING SAFETY GROUND
The Ultimus V is designed with a three-position IEC 60320-C14 receptacle that
connects the ground line to the chassis ground. To minimize shock hazard, make
sure your electrical power outlet and power cord has an appropriate earth safety
ground that is connected whenever you power up the Ultimus V.
If your power outlet does not have an appropriate ground connection, you must
connect the premise wire safety ground to the chassis grounding screw located on
the rear panel. To connect the safety ground, complete the following steps:
1. Connect a 16 AWG (1.3 mm) wire to the chassis grounding screw on the rear of
the chassis using a toothed grounding lug. The wire must have green insulation
with a yellow stripe or must be noninsulated (bare).
2. Attach the opposite end of the wire to permanent earth ground using toothed
washers or a toothed lug.
The safety messages that follow have CAUTION level hazards.
Failure to comply may result in minor or moderate injury.
READ MANUAL
Read manual for proper use of this equipment. Follow all safety instructions. Task-
and equipment-specific warnings, cautions and instructions are included in equipment
documentation where appropriate. Make sure these instructions and all other
equipment documents are accessible to persons operating or servicing equipment.
