6.7 Power System Module – PSM
The greatly increasing demands on power by modern IT structures require optimised solutions for distributing
power in racks and server safes. The PSM rail delivers an intelligent power-distribution system and reduces
cabling and assembly work. The modular system offers a basic system in the shape of a vertical carrier rail
with three-phase feed.
The various plug-in modules used to supply the active components may be clicked into the carrier rail. This is
possible without interruption to operations as the carrier system has been designed to prevent touch contact.
The various shockproof contacts, IEC320 etc. modules may be plugged in any order into the carrier rail.
The simple plug-and-play contact-preventing system makes installation even possible for non-electricians.
The PSM's advantages and technical features:
• Three-phase design with a maximum power of 3 x 16 A.
• An additional redundant 3 x 16 A feed may also be realised.
• The redundant power circuit is completely separated from the 3 phases of the carrier rail.
• Each plug-in module takes a phase from the carrier rail; depending on the plug-in direction from Feed A
or redundant Feed B.
• Modules may be fitted without interruption to operations.
• All plug-in modules are equipped with integrated overcurrent protection. Which means that only the af-
fected module will be deactivated in the event of power surges. The remaining modules continue operat-
ing.
• Overcurrent protection may be integrated into the supply line.
• Double-digit local LED 7-segment power display on the module.
• The modules may be activated or deactivated with the CMC-TC module using http and SNMP.
