2.2 Description of product
The Rittal Modular Safe LMS 9.3 consists of modular elements which are combined by means of a positive
interlock arrangement. The Modular Safe can be installed whilst system is in operation and hardware com-
ponents are housed within it. The special interlock arrangement enables the safe system to be dismantled
again and therefore extended or relocated at a later stage.
Seals resistant to high temperatures, expansion and water are fitted at the interfaces between the cell ele-
ments.
The cell elements themselves are manufactured from a special thermal insulation material incorporating
vapour diffusion barriers fitted in sheet steel frames.
The modular security cell consists as standard of a top and floor element, two side elements, user and ser-
vice doors, and two mounting frames. Varid locks are fitted as standard in both door elements. Both side
elements are equipped with a cable duct.
The Modular Safe is equipped with a potential equalisation rail which has to be earthed by the customer to a
central earthing point (min. 6 mm² / yellow/green).
The air-conditioning system is designed as a split unit and thus prevents dust and corrosive combustion
gases from penetrating into the safe. In accordance with the stray power and the conditions prevailing on
site, different designs and power levels can be selected.
The CMC-TC is available as a network-compatible monitoring system for interior surveillance.
An uninterruptible power supply, early fire detection system, as well as fire-alarm and extinguishing technol-
ogy can also be integrated as 19" modules and offer a high level of security.
