Loading the Multipurpose Tray

Open the multipurpose tray.

Fan a stack of approximately 200
sheets of paper.

Align the edges of the paper, and
then load it with its printing-side up
and short edge toward the printer.
Often, an arrow on the paper
package label indicates the
printing-side of the media.
Attention
Do not load media above the fill
limit mark on the inside left of the
tray, or it may not feed correctly.
The multipurpose media tray
holds approximately 200 sheets
of 20 lb bond (75 g/m²) paper.

loading different types of media, refer to
chapter 2, “Using Media,” in the
User’s Guide
.
The multipurpose tray is used for all media types,
especially envelopes, labels, Japanese-sized
postcards, thick stock, and transparencies.
