Normal Sounds
Your new portable fridge / freezer may make sounds that are not familiar to you. Most of the
new sounds are normal. Hard surfaces like the floor and walls can make the sounds seem
louder than they actually are. The following describes the kinds of sounds that might be new to
you and what may be making them.
It is normal to hear gurgling sounds caused by the flow of refrigerant when each cooling
cycle ends.
The noise emitted by the cooling fan on the condenser is a normal function.
It is normal for the fan in the power supply to run all the time.
Defrosting and Deodorizing
When the ice layer on the inner cabinet sides is over 0.2”, the defrosting operation should be
performed to improve the refrigerating efficiency. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power, and remove all items inside the portable freezer.
2. Allow the ice to melt completely.
3. Remove the drain plug and drain all of the water. Once the unit is defrosted and all the
water has drained out, clean the interior with a soft rag before using the unit.
Preparing the Portable Freezer for Storage
If the portable fridge / freezer will not be used for a long time, it will be necessary to defrost the
unit and dry the interior.
1. Disconnect the freezer from the power supply by removing the power plug from the wall
socket.
2. Leave the freezer lid open to allow for air circulation and to prevent mold, mildew, and
unpleasant smells.
Caution: Store the unit out of the reach of children. If you have children, you may want to take
additional precautions such as removing the door to prevent a child from being trapped inside
the freezer!
Important:
Do not touch the power plug when your hands are wet.
Never unplug the unit by pulling on the plug.
