Setting the Hardware
Profile
Use the Interface > Port > Hardware Profile page to configure the breakout mode
for QSFP+ interfaces.
Command Usage
The QSFP+ interfaces on the switch operate in two hardware modes; 1 x 40G and
4 x 10G. Changing the hardware mode of a port requires a switch restart before the
setting takes effect. (The 10G SFP+ interfaces do not support a breakout mode.)
Parameters
These parameters are displayed:
Port – Port identifier.
Configured Mode – The 40G ports can be configured as a single port
connected with 40G QSFP+ fiber cable, 40G DAC (direct attach) cable, or
breakout cable that connects a 40G port to four 10G ports.
1x40g – Configures the port as a single 40G port.
4x10g – Configures the port as four 10G ports.
Operational Mode – Displays the current operating mode for the interface.
