networking device, connect one end of the cable to the LC connector on one
of the switch’s SFP transceivers and the other end to the LC port on the
other device. Since both LC connectors are keyed, the cable can only be
attached in the correct orientation.

4. As a connection is made, check the Link LED on the switch corresponding to
the port to be sure that the connection is valid.
The 1000BASE-SX/LX/LH fiber optic ports operate at 1 Gbps full duplex. The
maximum length for fiber optic cable operating at Gigabit speeds will depend on
the fiber type as listed under "1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Collision Domain" on
page 56. Also, remember to consider power budget constraints when calculating
the maximum cable length for each specific connection.
The 100BASE-FX fiber optic ports operate at 100 Mbps full duplex. The
maximum length for fiber optic cable operating at 100 Mbps is listed under
"100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Collision Domain" on page 57.
