Configuring Static Routes
You can enter static routes in the routing table using the IP > Routing > Static
Routes (Add) page. Static routes can be set to force the use of a specific route to a
subnet. Static routes do not automatically change in response to changes in
network topology, so you should only configure a small number of stable routes to
ensure network accessibility.
Command Usage
Up to 256 static routes can be configured.
Parameters
These parameters are displayed:
Destination IP Address IP address of the destination network, subnetwork,
or host.
Net Mask / Prefix Length – Network mask for the associated IP subnet. This
mask identifies the host address bits used for routing to specific subnets.
Next Hop – IP address of the next router hop used for this route.
Distance – An administrative distance used for route selection. If more than
one route is configured for the same destination, the route with the longest
matching prefix is used. If more than one route is configured to the same
destication with the same matching prefix, then the route with the smallest
distance is used. (Range: 1-255, Default: 1)
