The IEEE standard does not define the maximum power of each PD class. The
following table is an example from Microsem's PoE IC implementation.
Example
Console(config)#power inline maximum allocation mode user
Console(config)#
power mainpower
maximum allocation
This command defines a power budget for the switch (i.e., the power available to all
switch ports). Use the no form to restore the default setting.
Syntax
power mainpower maximum allocation milliwatts
milliwatts - The power budget for the switch.
(Range: 50000-180000 mW for ECS4100-12PH, 50000-190000 mW for the
ECS4100-28P, 50000-370000 mW for the ECS4100-52P)
Default Setting
180000 mW for ECS4100-12PH
190000 mW for ECS4100-28P
370000 mW for ECS4100-52P

Command Usage
Setting a maximum power budget for the switch enables power to be centrally
managed, preventing overload conditions at the power source.
