L2 Gigabit Ethernet Switch

ECS3510-26P

The ECS3510-26P is a high-performance enterprise Layer 2 switch that provides 24

10/100BASE-T RJ-45 PoE enabled ports and two combination ports; two 1000BASE-

T ports that operate in combination with two Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable

(SFP) Gigabit slots that support 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX, 1000BASE-LH,

100BASE-FX and1000BASE-T transceivers.

which is on the Documentation CD included with the switch.

The switch is designed to be installed in a standard 19-inch equipment rack.

However, you can also install the switch on any flat surface, such as a desktop.

Follow the steps in this guide to install the switch in your network.

1. Unpack the Switch Unpack the switch and check the package contents.

Quick Start Guide 2. Install the Switch The switch can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack or on a desktop or shelf. Rack Mounting—Following your rack plan, mark the holes in the rack where the switch will be installed. One person should lift the switch into the rack so that it is aligned with the marked holes. A second person should secure the switch in the rack, using four rack-mounting screws (not provided).

Quick Start Guide 3. Connect Power To supply AC power to the ECS3510-26P switch, first verify that the external AC power supply can provide 100 to 240 VAC, 50-60 Hz and 3.0 A minimun. To connect AC power, plug the power cord into a grounded, 3-pin, AC power source and then into the AC socket on the rear of the switch. Caution: Use the AC power cord supplied with the switch.

Quick Start Guide ◆ For the SFP slots, first install SFP transceivers and then connect cabling to the transceiver ports. The SFP slots support the following transceiver types: 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX, 1000BASE-LH, 100BASE-FX, and 1000BASE-T. For fiber transceivers connect 62.5/ 125 or 50/125 multimode or 9/125 single-mode fiber with LC connectors. As connections are made, check the port status LEDs to be sure the links are valid.
