Configuring Local Port Mirroring

(remote port mirroring as described in Configuring Remote Port Mirroring” on
page 136).
Monitor port speed should match or exceed source port speed, otherwise
traffic may be dropped from the monitor port.
The destination port cannot be a trunk or trunk member port.
Note that Spanning Tree BPDU packets are also mirrored to the target port.
Parameters
These parameters are displayed:
Source Port – The port whose traffic will be monitored.
Target Port – The port that will mirror the traffic on the source port.
Type – Allows you to select which traffic to mirror to the target port, Rx
(receive), Tx (transmit), or Both. (Default: Both)
Web Interface
To configure a local mirror session:
1. Click Interface, Port, Mirror.
2. Select Add from the Action List.
3. Specify the source port.
4. Specify the monitor port.
5. Specify the traffic type to be mirrored.
6. Click Apply.
