• Onnewequipment,andafterreplacingasetofbelts,theyshouldbere-tensionedaftertherstfourhoursofuse.
• Newbeltswillbestiffandwillloosenwithuse.Properbelttensionmustbemaintainedtotransmittheengine/motor
power to the cutting drum. Slipping belts will overheat, belt life will be shortened and the cutting speed limited.
Over tensioned belts will shorten belt and bearing life.
• Damaged, stretched or excessively worn belts should be replaced with a complete set. DO NOT mix new and used
belts,doingsowillonlyshortenthelifeofnewbelt(s)andlimitpowertransferfromtheengine/motortothecutting
drum.Thiswillhaveadeniteimpactonmachineefciencyandproductionrate.
• Totensionbelts,loosenmotormountinghardwareslightly.Usethejackingbolttoadjusttheengine/motoruntilthe
beltsaretight.Re-torquetheengine/motormountinghardware.
Belts:
• Checkoillevelbeforeoperation.Changeengineoilandlteraccordingtoenginemanufacturersrecommenda-
tions.
• Cleanairlterelementdaily.

Engine Air Filter:
•Inspecttheairlter(Figure 8) for excess dust, dirt or dam-
age before the engine is operated. More often if operating
in a extremely dusty environment.
•Operatingtheenginewithadamagedordirtyairlter,or
withoutanairlter,willallowdirttoentertheenginecausing
premature engine wear which is not covered under the
engine manufacturer’s warranty.
•Followtheenginemanufacturer’sproceduresforkeeping
ltersingoodcondition.
