The validated cleaning agents for cleaning the electrocardiograph and ECG cable are:
⚫ Mild near-neutral detergent
⚫ Ethanol (75%)
⚫ Isopropanol (70%)
The validated cleaning agent for cleaning the reusable electrodes is:
⚫ Mild near-neutral detergent
Cleaning agents should be applied or removed using a clean, soft, non-abrasive cloth or
paper towel.
WARNING
Before cleaning, unplug the electrocardiograph from AC power if connected. Disconnect
with the ECG cables.
1. Wipe the device's exterior and accessories, including the main unit, sampling box,
ECG cable, reusable electrodes, etc., using a clean, soft cloth dampened with a cleaning
solution until no visible contaminants.
2. Remove residual cleaning solution with a fresh cloth or towel dampened with tap
water until there is no visible cleaning solution.
3. Air-dry the device and accessories in a ventilated and cool place.
CAUTION
Any remainder of the cleaning solution should be removed from the device, sampling box,
and ECG cable after cleaning.
11.3 Disinfection
To avoid permanent damage to the device, it is recommended that disinfection is
performed when it is considered necessary according to your hospital' regulations. Clean
the device and reusable accessories before they are disinfected.
1. Unplug the device from AC power if connected. Take out its battery. Disconnect
the ECG cables. In the case of the sampling box, disconnect it from the DE18 cable and
the lead wires.
2. Wipe the device's exterior and accessories, including the main unit, sampling box,
ECG cable, reusable electrodes, etc., using a soft cloth dampened with diluted
disinfectant.
