2 Low Temp. Mode can be activated only when measure mode is PREDICT.
3 Make sure all settings of TEMP Setup are properly set up every time before you
withdraw the probe from the probe well. If you modify the settings immediately a
measurement is completed, the new settings will be effective for the next
measurement.
15.3 Infrared TEMP with TAT Thermometer
15.3.1 Introduction
The Temporal Scanner, Model TAT TEMP Thermometer has the capability of taking Temporal
Artery (TA) Temperature in about 3 seconds. TAT Temp scanner has the ability to measure the
patient‘s Arterial temperature in °F or °C.
The monitor with TAT Temp scanner is indicated for use in adult, pediatric and neonatal patient
populations.
15.3.2 Safety Information
WARNING
1 No modification of this equipment is allowed.
2 Do not use this thermometer if it is not working properly, if it has been exposed to
temperature extremes, damaged, been subject to electrical shocks or immersed in
water.
3 Not suitable for use in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixtures.
4 Do not take temperature over scar tissue, open sores or abrasions.
CAUTION
1 Use this product only for its intended use as described in this manual.
2 The operating environmental temperature range for this product is 60 to 104 °F (15.5
to 40 °C).
3 Always store this thermometer in a clean, dry place where it will not become
excessively cold (-4 °F/-20 °C), or hot (122 °F/50 °C) or humid (max RH 93%
non-condensing, at 50 to 106 kPa).
4 The thermometer is not shockproof. Do not drop it or expose it to electrical shocks.
5 Do not Autoclave. Note cleaning and sterilizing procedures in this manual.
6 In addition to the battery, there are no other parts available to the user for
maintenance. When the battery power is low, the user shall replace the battery
according to the instructions in this manual. For service, repair or adjustments, return
the thermometer to the manufacturer.
