3. Press the Set key to place that caliper and add the second half of the caliper pair. Further
presses of the Set key toggle which side of the caliper can be moved. Pressing the Enter
key completes the caliper and allows you to create another tool
4. The Caliper measurement can display the following results:
Distance
Time
Slope
HRThe HR measurement can provide the heart rate calculation by measured the time of the
heart beat cycles.
To use the HR measurement
1. Invoke the Measure Function on a Doppler strip.
2. If HR is not the default measurement, select HR from the touch screen.
3. Move the caliper to position the first heart beat. Press the Set key to activate a second
caliper.
4. Move the second caliper to position the next beat.
5. Press the Enter key to complete or press the Set key to switch moving the first caliper.
6. The HR measurement can display the following result(the actual results shown will
depend on the preset):
7.3.2. Application Measurements and Calculations
Application Measurements have a pre-defined meaning and can be entered into a report. Acclarix
AX8 supports the following application packages, each with its own set of measurements,
calculations and report:
OB (including multiple fetuses)
Abd
Vascular
Cardiac
Gynecology
Small Parts
Urology
Pediatric(including Neonatal)

When you select an application measurement from the touch screen it will automatically invoke
the type of measurement it needs. For example, if you select “BPD” from the OB application it
will automatically invoke a distance measurement. These measurements generally behave as
described above for generic measurements. However, a final press of the Enter key after the
measurement is complete will enter the result into the report.
Some application measurements can have multiple variations. For example, in a twin OB exam
the OB measurements can be done on either fetus. As another example, in Vascular exams several
measurements can be done in a Proximal, Mid, or Distal location. When a measurement has
