1. Introduction to the Bed Beacon and Mat Antenna
In full hospital implementations of the Ecolab™ Hand Hygiene Program Compliance Monitoring System (the
System), the Bed Beacon, which contains an internal low frequency antenna, is mounted to a patient bed. Its
function is to: communicate with the system Badge worn by a HCW, when the HCW comes into close proximity
with the patient bed (“bed event”); collect bed event and hand hygiene status data from that Badge; and then
