11 TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problem Possible Cause Trouble shooting
The grinding degree is not fine
enough
Use a finer grinding degree.
Tamp the ground coffee more firmly.
The coffee mixture is too old. Use fresh coffee
There is too much chlorine in the
water.
Use a chlorine filter.
The amount of ground coffee is not
enough.
Take the right coffee amount:
Use approx. 7 g of coffee for each
cup.
Little or no crema on the top of the
coffee
The net filter is dirty. Clean the brewing group.
The grinding is too fine.
Increase the grinding degree.
Tamp the ground coffee only
slightly.
Sparse coffee dispensing, only drop
by drop
There is too much ground coffee.
Use approx. 7 g of coffee for every
cup.
The grinding degree is not fine
enough.
Reduce the grinding degree.
The coffee is old. Use fresh coffee.
The amount of ground coffee is not
enough.
Use approx. 7 g of coffee for each

Weak “body”
The net filter is dirty. Clean the net filter.

Problem Possible Cause Trouble shooting
The orange control lamp is switched
off: there is not enough water in the
water tank.
Refill water.
Water was refilled, the orange
control lamp is switched off.
Switch on/off the machine.
The machine is switched on, but the
machine does not go into service.
The water tank is not fixed properly. Fix the water tank properly.
Different quantities of coffee.
Different grinding degree
Irregular tamping
Different doses when preparing 1
espresso, 2 espresso etc.
Different types of coffee.
Make sure to maintain the same
parameters.
If the machine has not been used for a longer period of time, it is recommended to
.. clean the group (see instructions, page 25); After this, please do not clamp the filter holder back to the group.
.. empty the boiler.
1 Switch the machine off (power switch in lower position) and open the hot water dispenser. Due to the boiler
pressure, the boiler water is now discharged by the hot water dispenser.
2 Close the hot water lever again after emptying the boiler.
To restart the machine, see chapter “First use”.
How to froth milk like a “barista”
1 If possible, use cold and fresh milk with a fat content of approx. 1.5 % or 3 %. Even UHT-milk is suitable, if
preferred.
2 Use a milk jug (made of metal) with a minimum volume of 0.5 litres. The size of the container should not be too
large. A small and high container is perfect.
3 Open the steam valve for approx. 5 seconds to release the condensation water and to create dry steam.
4 Fill 1/3 of the jug with milk and place it under the steam nozzle. The nozzle should be immersed in the middle of
the milk jug.
