10 Remove the portafilter and repeat point 9. After this, the brew group is ready for use.
Caution!
Beware of hot water splashing while cleaning the group.
7.3 Prophylactic descaling
When necessary, make use of a water softener in order to reach an adequate hardness level.
Please note that no water filter may be attached to the water tank adapter in machines with a rotary
pump. Only water filter pads, which are placed directly into the water tank may be used. You may
also use water which has previously been filtered.
The machine may only be descaled by your specialised dealer because a partial disassembly of the boiler
and the tubing may be necessary to prevent the system from being blocked by lime residues. While
descaling the machine, the lime residues can plug several components such as valves, gauges etc.,
causing damage to your espresso coffee machine.
Damage to persons or to the material caused by calcification in and on your machine is not subject to
the manufacturer’s liability.
In this case, the warranty expires as well.
7.4 Maintenance

Replacing the group gasket and the shower screen (Group gasket (item no. C449900229) and shower screen (item
no. C519900103) must be changed at the same time)
1 Switch off the machine (power switch in position“0”) and disconnect the power cord.
2 Open the steam valve and release the steam. Then close it again.
3 Let the machine cool down to room temperature.
Follow the steps as indicated below:
1. Brew group in the beginning.
2. Use a flat screwdriver to pry out
the shower screen and the group
gasket.
3. The shower screen and the gasket
are now nearly removed.
4. Remove the shower screen and
the gasket completely.
5. Keep the new spare parts ready at
hand (the rounded side of the group
gasket with ECM print faced
upwards to the brew group).
6. Clean the group with a brush.
Lock the shower screen firmly into
the gasket.
