5. Route guidance
Voice guidance
If you approach an intersection, junction, interchange (ramp) exit/entrance, junction or
destination while route guidance is in progress, voice guidance will announce the remaining
distance to this point and one of 10 different turning directions (straight, right, left, slight right,
slight left, sharp right, sharp left, make a legal U-turn, keep right, keep left). Voice guidance is
performed using PCM voice (human voice).

Voice guidance at intersections
As you approach an intersection, the voice
guidance will indicate the remaining distance
as well as driving directions.
Example of voice guidance:
• In XX mile (km), XX turn
Motorway junction voice guidance
While driving on a Motorway, junctions are
shown in an enlarged display and the
direction is announced vocally.
Example of voice guidance:
• In XX mile (km), exit right XX
In quarter a mile, right turn.

Use the voice guidance only as a reference.
Voice guidance is constantly updated along with the vehicle's progress. For
example, if you press a few moments after hearing "In half mile, right
turn" while driving, you will hear the updated guidance "In quarter a mile, right
turn."
Voice guidance starts when you set automatic voice guidance to . (See
page 138).
The above are examples of the most common voice guidance announcements
and may differ depending on the way the roads along your route are connected.
