dizziness,headache,narcosis,etc).Studies onlaboratory
animalshaveshownsimilarmaterialstocauseskinirritationafterrepeatedorprolongedcontact.
Repeateddirectapplicationofsimilarmaterialstotheskincanproducedefattingdermatitisand
kidneydamageinlaboratoryanimals.Themostcommoneffectsobservedinrepeateddoseanimal
studies
withmineralspiritsarekidneychangesthatareconsistentwithanalpha2u‐globulin‐
mediatedprocessthatisnotregardedasrelevanttohumans.Certainstudieshavereportedeffects
intheliveraswellashematologicalorurinechemistrychanges.Ingeneral,theseeffectshavenotto
beenshowntobe
dose‐related.
