Problem:
I properly installed the S/PDIF CDROM connector cable, but I’m
still not getting an S/PDIF signal into my Gina24.
Solution
: If you have it properly connected and you have switched the
Digital mode to “S/PDIF CDROM” on the Echo Console, then your
CDROM driver probably doesn’t have a functional Digital Output. We have
discovered that there are a quite a few CDROM drives out there that have a
non-functioning
Digital output. This is frustrating, but unfortunately there
is nothing we can do. If you want to use this feature, you should check with
your CDROM drive manufacturer to make sure it is supported. We are
gathering a list of CDROM drives that support this feature and we will post
it on our website in the future.
Problem:
I can’t get Gina24 to record at 96 kHz.
Solution
: Set the Digital Mode to one of the S/PDIF options. You can
change this setting from the Echo Console. When the Digital Mode is set to
ADAT you are limited to the sample rates that are within the ADAT spec
(such as 44.1 and 48kHz). Please note that you can only record above 48
kHz through the analog I/O. We will add support for recording through
S/PDIF at 88.2 and 96 kHz in a future driver release.
