Load Segments
Some UPSs are equipped with load segments, which are always dependent on the
UPS's master. Shutdown of the master initiates a shutdown of the load segments
(usually two load segments). Refer to the UPS user's guide for the location of the load
segments. Figure 55 shows a graph of the shutdown sequence for the load
segments.
The following notations are used to identify these receptacles:

Protection of a Server Connected to a Load Segment
NetWatch and NSMs are compatible with load segments. After connecting the server
electrically to one of the load segments, NetWatch and NSM must be informed of the
load segment number to which it is connected.
