Surge suppression
Eaton Eclipse
The Eaton Eclipse product line brings affordable surge protection
to your consumer electronics, PCs, printers and home theater
equipment in the event of nearby lightning strikes, surges and
spikes. In addition, Eclipse provides line noise reduction to minimize
interference from utility power. All Eclipse models include a load-
protected status LED to notify you in case of surge protection
failure.
Eclipse is available in three models for individual applications:
• Eclipse Personal for home appliance or home/office PC use
• Eclipse Pro for professional use, including networked PCs,
servers and
business equipment
• Eclipse ProTel for fax/modem protection in addition to all the
features of Eclipse Pro
Power factor correction capacitors and filters
Eaton’s capacitor and electronic means of power factor correction
saves energy and can also reduce the required sizes of electrical
equipment due to lower kVA. Power factor correction enables your
organization to become more environmentally responsible without
reducing the amount of working power available. This corresponds
to additional savings in material costs that would have been used to
produce larger electrical equipment and distribution systems, which
can contribute to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED
®
) points for buildings and projects seeking LEED certification.
As part of a power factor correction system, harmonic filters resolve
the power anomalies caused by harmonics that shorten equipment
life and trigger unexpected shutdowns. By controlling harmonics,
current levels in the system are reduced and heat is removed from
the system. This, in turn, minimizes troublesome issues such as
blown fuses, damaged motors and failed transformers, extending
equipment life.

The Eaton Unipump is a non-fused
capacitor based product designed
to be used at the motor locations
of outdoor irrigation, oil field
installations, or other weather
restricted areas requiring power
factor correction at the motor load.
Unipak's are capacitor-based
products designed to be used when
fixed, static capacitance (wall or
floor mounted) is need within parts
of your electrical system.
