Park Center Building A: UPS Load Bank Test Procedure
Eaton will provide a load bank with cable, test equipment (Fluke 87III or equivalent, Fluke i410 Amp
lamp or equivalent, Fluke 123 Oscilloscope or equivalent, and laptop with service tool) and a Field
engineer to load bank test the UPS System. The customer is responsible to have a qualified electrician on
site during the testing and to connect and disconnect the load bank to the UPS System. The customer is
also responsible to provide a location suitable for the load bank equipment within a distance of the load
bank cables provided.
Testing to consist of the following:
A. UPS Module and System Operational and Functional Tests
The UPS module and system controls, alarms, remote panels and meters shall be tested for proper
operation. All modes of operation shall be tested to assure system operates in accordance with
specifications.
B. UPS Module and System Steady-State Tests
Measure and/or record UPS module input and output AC voltage, current, frequency, kW, kVA and
power factor, DC voltage and current, and regulation under the following conditions:
x No Load
x 25% Load
x 50% Load
x 75% Load
x 100% Load
C. UPS Module and Transfer Tests
Perform the following transfers and verify proper operation:
x No Load to 50% Load to No Load
x 50% Load to 100% Load to 50% Load
x No Load to 100% Load to No Load
x 100% Load, Loss of Input Power
x 100% Load, Loss of Bypass Source
x 100% Load, Loss of Battery
x 100% Load, Manual Transfer to Static Bypass and Re-transfer to UPS
x 100% Load, Manual Transfer to/from Maintenance Bypass
x 100% Load, Automatic Transfer to Bypass (Module Fault Condition)
x Restoration of Input Power (Power Walk-in & Inrush Current)
D. Heat Run
Operate UPS system at 100% full load redundant operation for a 3.5 hour period. Record voltage,
current, frequency, kW, kVA, and power factor during the burn in each ½ hr. (This will be a meters
