Présentation Réception du matériel L’option que vous venez d’acheter se compose des éléments suivants (voir figure 1) : ◗ une carte de communication, ◗ une face avant spécifique aux ASI Galaxy PW, ◗ un manuel d’installation et d’utilisation (le présent document).
Fonction Vue d'ensemble La carte de communication 2 ports COM appartient à la famille des cartes de communication transverses. A ce titre elle peut être utilisée dans toutes les ASI équipées d'un bus UPS BUS ainsi que dans un module MultiSlot. 1 Elle est équipée de deux ports de communication RS232 indépendants sur lesquels peuvent se connecter : ◗ un logiciel d'administration de la famille Solution-Pac, ◗ un terminal de contrôle à distance UPScontrol. 2 4 3 Elle implémente le protocole HID. Installation ASI COM La carte de communication 2 ports COM est prête à l'emploi. Elle ne nécessite aucun paramétrage. Elle peut être insérée : ◗ soit dans une ASI (Fig. 3), ◗ soit dans un module MultiSlot (Fig. 4). Il n'est pas nécessaire de mettre hors tension l'appareil avant d'insérer la carte. Utilisation ASI COM Pour administrer l'installation à l'aide d'un logiciel Solution-Pac, il faut relier l'un des ports COM de la carte au système de surveillance (Fig. 5). Le câble de communication est fourni avec l'ASI. Fig. 5 ASI UPScontrol ART : 510297000 NT : 01 Made in France IN : 5V= / 0.
Dépannage Anomalies de fonctionnement Remplacement du câble Si le voyant vert de la carte de communication reste éteint en permanence : ◗ vérifier que la carte est correctement insérée dans son emplacement et que sa face avant est bien vissée, ◗ vérifier que le système (ASI ou MultiSlot) est sous-tension, ◗ enlever la carte puis l’insérer de nouveau. En cas de perte ou de détérioration du câble de communication, il est possible d’utiliser un câble répondant aux caractéristiques détaillées en Fig.

Function Overall view The 2 COM ports communication card is part of transverse communication cards. This card may then be used in any UPSs equipped with UPS BUS as well as in the MultiSlot module. 1 This card has two independent RS232 communication ports, on which can be connected : ◗ one monitoring software included in Solution-Pac, ◗ one remote control panel UPScontrol. 2 4 3 The HID protocol is used. Installation COM ASI U-Talk COM The 2 COM ports communication card is ready to use. No settings are needed. It can be inserted : ◗ either in a UPS’s slot (Fig. 3), ◗ or in the MultiSlot module (Fig. 4). You do not need to power down the device before inserting the card. Case of Galaxy PW UPSs : ◗ remove the mounted card cover and use the Galaxy PW UPSs specific one. Fig. 3 MultiSlot ASI U-Talk COM COM Fig.
Operation ASI COM To monitor the installation with Solution-Pac software, you have to connect one COM port of the card to the monitoring system (Fig. 5). The communication cable is supplied with the UPS.
Troubleshooting Operating anomalies Cable replacement If the green light on the communication card remains off : ◗ check that the card is correctly inserted in the slot and that its cover is well screwed on, ◗ check the power supply of the UPS or MultiSlot, ◗ remove and re-seat the card. If the communication cable is lost or damaged, a cable wired as indicated in Fig. 7 for the connection to a UPS, or in Fig. 8 for the connection to UPScontrol, may be used.
