The EZ-Cap Pre-wire Installation Kit must only be
used in conjunction with low voltage wire.
The EZ-Cap Pre-wire Installation Kit can be used in a
wall or ceiling application.
The wall studs or ceiling structure must be on 24” or
smaller centers. The wall must have an interior depth of
at least 3 inches.
Attach EZ-Cap Bridge to each side of two adjacent studs
using drywall screws or any screw with a flat head that is
at least ¼” in diameter. Use two screws on each side of
bridge. Always position wire outlet hole near center of
stud opening. This process is made easy ( no measuring
required ) by using 16” and 24” center stud indictors.
( see figure A on right)
5.
After attaching EZ-Cap Bridge to studs ( wall or ceiling structure )
pull desired low voltage wire through wire inlet hole or holes at top of wire cavity. Coil excess wire in
ceiling or wall to meet needs of device to be installed at a future time, i.e. 24” to 36” of speaker wire
for an in-wall speaker. Then tie a knot in wire to keep wire from being pulled from EZ-Cap Pre-wire
Installation Kit during construction. ( see figure B and C below )

You are now ready for drywall installation.
After drywall installation the Wire Outlet Hole is the
only portion of the EZ-Cap Pre-wire Installation Kit
that is visible through the drywall.
You are now ready to install the cap portion of the EZ-
Cap Pre-wire Installation Kit. If necessary, clean excess
sheetrock mud and paint from wire outlet hole, using
a utility knife. Screw cap clockwise by hand into wire
outlet hole until it fits flush against drywall.
( see figure D on right )
You have now completed EZ-Cap Installation.

2.
Remove cap portion of EZ-Cap Pre-wire Installation
Kit from ceiling or wall by screwing cap counter
clockwise using your hand. You now have access to low
voltage wire.
( see figure E right )
Using a in-wall or ceiling speaker template, center
template on EZ-Cap Wire outlet hole and trace desired
hole size with pencil on wall or ceiling. ( Before drawing
on drywall use stud finder to determine location of studs
or ceiling structure. )
( see figure F below )

5.
Use a Sheetrock saw of choice to cut desired hole size to match speaker. After removing sheetrock cut through
EZ-Cap bridge with tin snips or desired cutters. Then reach into hole and push Bridge up or outward until the
Bridge breaks at the Break Points, repeat on other side.
( see figures G & H below )
You are now ready to follow your speaker manufacturer’s installation instructions to connect and install
speaker.
You have now completed the In-Wall Speaker Installation. ( see figure I )
