HeaterWiring
Regardlessofthemodelchosen,thereare5wires insidethebaseoftheheater which
mustbewiredcorrectly.Threewirecontactsare requiredtoobtainthepowersource.
Thewiringcodeisthesamefor120voltunits.
Theheatermustbeprovideddisconnectdevice(switch/breaker)fromthesupply
mains
having a contact separation in all poles thatprovide full disconnection witha contact
separationofatleast3mm.
Onthelargein‐wallunittheblackishot,theredisneutral,andthegreenisground.On
the small in‐wall unit the black is hot, the blue is neutral and the green is ground. On
bothunitstheyellowandwhitewiresgodirectlytothethermostat.
Noexternalpowersupplyisneeded.Anyattempt to attachanexternalpowersupply
willcausedamagetotheinternalcomponentsandwillresultinproductfailure.
When
connectingmultipleunitstoasinglethermostat,theunitsmustbeconnectedin
parallel with all yellow and all white wire leads connected to their same respective
terminalsonthethermostat.
Failuretofollowtheseguidelineswillresultininternaltransformerfailureandproduct
failure.
Thefiguresbelowdepictatypicalwiringprocedureusingconventional12/2wireonalargeheater.
ThermostatWiring
Use any conventional thermostat or doorbell wire to route the thermostat to the
heater.Unless the thermostat is diode protected or voltagesensitive to DC (positive
and negative), it doesn’t matter which heater thermostat wiregoes to the respective
contactsonthebackofthermostat.
Consultthewiringinstructionsthatare
includedwiththethermostattomakesurethat
the low voltage thermostat being used is compatible with the 12 volt DC voltage
originating from the yellow and white thermostat wires from the heater.The
thermostatshouldbelocatedatleast5feetfromthelocationofthein‐wallheater.

Use the retrofit brackets as shown. Attach the heater unit to the wall, 6 ft.
(1.8m)orhigherabovethefloortothebottomoftheheaterunit.Thehigher
thebetter.Thehigherlocationoftheheaterinsuresthatobstaclesintheroom
suchasfurniturewillnot encumber
thecirculation oftheinfraredheatwaves
being generated from the heater. This assures even heat distribution and
preventscold‐pocketsofair.
