4.3 Firmware updates
Firmwareupdatesshouldonlybeinstallediftheycaneliminateexistingbugsinthermware
in the device or contain new features.
Thermwareoftheloadmodule,ifnecessary,isupdatedviathefrontsideUSBport.ItrequiresaFAT32format-
tedUSBstickwiththeupdatele.
► How to update the rmware:
1. Ifnotalreadyavailable,obtainaUSBashdrive(capacityupto32GB)andensurethatitisformattedas
FAT32.
2. Createa folder with the name HMI_FILES (case sensitive!) in the root directory of the ash drive and
copytheunpackedrmwareupdateletothisfolder.Thelenamemustbeginwithanumber.Example:
96230108_FW-ELR-MUL-HMI_V201.bin.
3. Tap the touch area , then , then “HMI Setup” and then “Firmware Update”.
4. In the screen, select touch area “HMI”.ConrmthesecurityquestionwithENTER,plugtheUSBstick.The
HMIwillthenreadandlistthedetectedupdatelesfoundintheHMI_FILESfolder.
5. Select and tick the update to be used and tap the touch area . The control panel will then be updated.
Oncenished,thedevicewillautomaticallyrestart.
6. Switch the equipment off, wait until it is completely off (fan not running anymore), then switch back on.
7. Check all settings in MENU and all set values.
It is recommended to perform a “Reset device” after every update. See section 3.4.3.1.

in this document.

6.1 General
Repairs, if not otherwise arranged between supplier and customer, will be carried out by EA Elektro-Automatik.
Forthistheequipmentmustgenerallybereturnedtothemanufacturer.NoRMAnumberisneeded.Itissufcient
to package the equipment adequately and send it, together with a detailed description of the fault and, if still under
guarantee, a copy of the invoice, to the following address.
6.2 Contact options
Questionsorproblemswithoperationofthedevice,useofoptionalcomponents,withthedocumentationorsoft-
ware, can be addressed to technical support either by telephone or e-Mail.
